Serving Seniors

Seniors in Story, a network of more than 20 agencies that provide services to older adults in Story County, is pleased to host the Senior Expo in May to honor the national celebration of Older Americans Month. Since 2004, Seniors in Story members have met monthly to network and learn about current events and services benefiting Story County residents. Seniors in Story also wants to provide the opportunity for the public to learn about these resources.

2017: Save the Date!

The 2017 Senior Expo is right around the corner! Save May 9, 2017 for the big event!

This year’s featured speaker is Phyllis Schrag. As a storyteller about small town life, Phyllis Schrag is very qualified. Schrag grew up in a tiny South Dakota town that measured 4 blocks by 6 blocks. Her reminisces of life in a small town are universal.

Her personal reflection of that life and those times, entitled, ““If You Have To Grow Up, It Might As Well Be In a Small Town” is the featured presentation at Senior Expo 2017. Schrag is a SD Humanities Scholar whose programs include a wide variety of topics. As a retired public school teacher, Schrag continues enjoying life’s pleasures in her acting, singing, performing, speaking, writing, reading, quilting and volunteering.
